beora Terms of Use

Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE] Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

These terms are an agreement between you and [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("beora", "we", "us") for your use of getbeora.com, the beora waitlist and the beora mobile app (together, the "Services"). By using the Services you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Services.

1. Who can use beora

You must be at least 16 years old. If you use beora for your employer or another organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

2. Your account

You can start learning without an email address. Your progress is linked to an anonymous account on your device until you choose to save it with your email. If you delete the app before saving your progress, it may not be recoverable.

Keep your sign in details private and tell us at hello@getbeora.com if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

3. What beora offers

beora provides short lessons, a trilingual glossary, progress tracking and, in future, certificates, team plans and exam preparation packs. Some features are free and others may require a paid plan. We will always show the price and what is included before you pay.

We keep improving beora, so features may change, be added or be removed. If we remove a paid feature you have already paid for, we will offer a fair alternative or a proportional refund.

4. Learning hours and certifications

This section matters, so please read it carefully.

  1. beora is independent. CMP, CSEP, CEM, DES, CMM and other certification names are trademarks of their respective owners. beora is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by them unless we clearly say so for a specific body.
  2. Hours are a record of your learning. beora counts the time you spend in completed lessons. Each certification body sets its own rules about what education it accepts, how hours are counted and how they must be reported.
  3. No guarantee of acceptance. Unless the app clearly states that a specific body has approved beora, we do not guarantee that any body will accept your beora hours, and you are responsible for checking its current rules.
  4. No guarantee of results. beora helps you prepare, but we cannot guarantee that you will pass any exam or obtain any certification.

5. Educational content only

beora lessons are general educational material based on common industry practice. They are not legal, financial, health, safety or engineering advice. Real events depend on local laws, venue rules, contracts, permits and qualified professionals. Always follow them, and check anything important with the right expert before acting on it.

We work hard to keep lessons accurate and every lesson is reviewed before release, but mistakes can happen. If you find one, please report it from the lesson so we can fix it.

6. Acceptable use

When you use beora, you agree not to:

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we may correct hours that were not earned through genuine use.

7. Our content and your feedback

beora, its lessons, questions, glossary, design, logo and software belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a personal, noncommercial, nontransferable right to use them through the Services while you follow these terms.

If you send us feedback, suggestions or reports, you allow us to use them to improve beora without owing you anything. We will not publish your name with them without your permission.

8. Paid plans

When paid plans become available:

  1. Prices, billing period and what is included will be shown before you buy.
  2. Subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed and managed by them under their terms, including renewals and cancellations.
  3. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
  4. Refunds follow the rules of the store you paid through and the consumer laws that apply to you. Where your local law gives you a right to cancel a purchase within a set period, such as the 7 day right of withdrawal under the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code, you keep that right.

9. Third party services

The Services rely on providers such as app stores, hosting and email services. Their own terms may apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for services we do not control.

10. Availability

We aim to keep beora available at all times but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may pause the Services for maintenance, updates or security reasons.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using beora and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we must do so by law. If we stop offering beora, we will give you reasonable notice and, where possible, a way to download your learning record.

12. Disclaimers and limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, the Services are provided as they are and as available, without promises beyond those in these terms. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost opportunities, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing in them removes rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.

13. Changes to these terms

If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 15 days before they take effect. If you keep using beora after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING JURISDICTION]. If you are a consumer, you can also rely on the mandatory laws of the country where you live and bring a claim in its courts. Before starting any formal dispute, please write to us at hello@getbeora.com so we can try to solve it together.
